field trip: Fort Frederica
Join CGGS for a field trip at the Fort Frederica National Monument park on St. Simons Island. The park contains the archaelogical remains of a fort and town built by James Oglethorpe between 1736 and 1748. Meet at 2 p.m. to hear a ranger talk about the research behind “Hidden Faces of Frederica,” online genealogical and historical portraits of early settlers on the island, followed by a tour.
