Let’s Chat: Finding African American Family Networks in Coastal Georgia – DNA & Records
February 19, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
The unique African American culture that developed along the Georgia coast is fascinating. Tracing family networks as freed people spread out along the coast after Emancipation can be challenging, but fortunately, both records and DNA technology exist to help with this effort. Join us on February 19 to learn more.
Our Speakers:
Terri Warrd, the Front Porch Genealogist, has been researching coastal Georgia history and genealogy for over two decades, both for her own family lines and as a community. She is a co-founder of Ujima Genealogy of Coastal Georgia, and has done a lengthy stint as the Moran Family Reunion Historian.
Adolphus Armstrong is the co-founder of the Low Country DNA Project. He has expertise in using DNA to reunite families.
